We here on the Student scholarship committee are so excited to welcome 9 students this year thanks to *your* donations!
Over the next few weeks we would like to introduce you to some of the students.

Meed Che’. Che’ has jumped in with both feet and is volunteering, joining multiple slacks and discords to meet people ahead of summer camp, and is always excited to share what new information she has found with her other new-attendees.

Q: If people want to find you online where should they look?
Twitter: [@IAmCheJackson] Linkedin: [chejackson]

Q: Is this your first time going to a hacking or Information Security event?
YES!! I am super excited to be a part of this amazing week!

Q: What are you most looking forward to at Diana Initiative? What about in Las Vegas?
Wow!! I look forward to experiencing so many events and moments at the Diana Initiative and while in Las Vegas. I have already created an agenda with the various talks and workshops I would like to attend to gain knowledge and be exposed to different aspects/paths of information security. I am an extrovert, so of course, I am ready to meet new people and possibly build solid relationships, especially with women. Lastly, I am looking forward to being a part of this extraordinary experience ~ It’s Hackers Summer Camp!

Q: What is the thing you are most hoping to go home with, a memory, an experience, a new skill, knowledge around a specific topic?
With all new experiences in my life, there are always memories to reflect back on. After my Infosec Week experience, I hope I am able to decide what skills and concepts I want to focus on in information security. Right now cloud security, social engineering, and bug bounties really pique my interest; however, I am attending other events and workshops to see if there is anything else that specifically interests me.

Q: What are you studying in school? How do you like it?
I am in graduate school majoring in Cybersecurity and I really enjoy it, hence the 4.0 GPA!! I have learned so much about information security, but I know I am at the tiptop of the iceberg. I am eager to drill down and gain more knowledge.

Q: What is your biggest topic of interests in infosec?
Currently, my biggest topic of interests is Social Engineering

Q: What is your dream career?
My dream career would be working with organizations in the government and healthcare sectors. Because I am a first-generation college student, I am planning to give back to my community by opening technology centers for underrepresented and low-income students to train them in information security fields so they can change the trajectory of their life.

Q: What sparked your interest in infosec?
My interest in infosec was sparked by reading articles about data breaches and various types of malware, but the social engineering aspect is what really hooked me.

If you are in government or healthcare perhaps you could spare some time to talk with Che’ about your career or your workplace so she can really find the best place to be when she finishes college.
